Travel in NL

Newfoundland and Labrador is the easternmost province of Canada, and it has more than 29,000 km of coast line. You will find everything here, from dramatic coastlines, never-ending bare lands, and thick boreal forests, to ancient rock formations—the natural, wild beauty of Newfoundland and Labrador surrounds you wherever you go.

With its history of settlement dating more than 9,000 years, even the history buffs will find something to explore throughout the province.
‍
It is also home to 3 national parks, 1 national park reserve, 18 wilderness and ecological reserves, and botanical gardens.

Torngat Mountains

Torngat Mountains National Park takes its name from the Inuktitut word Tongait, meaning place of spirits. It is 9,700 square kilometres of spectacular wilderness stretching north from Saglek Fjord to the northern tip of Labrador, and westward from the Atlantic seacoast to the Québec border. It's a land of mountains and polar bears, small glaciers, and caribou, where the Inuit hunt, fish, and travel, as their predecessors did for thousands of years.
Only accessible by water or air

L'Anse aux Meadows

L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the only authenticated Norse site in North America. Today, your visit will transport you back to where Vikings once stood. At the Viking Encampment, you can try blacksmithing or weaving, and talk to characters who will bring the Viking history to life. In the evenings, gather around the skáli (kitchen) and hear heroic and tragic tales of Thor, Loki, Erik the Red, and more from the Sagas.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site covering 1,805 square kilometres, the park is a never-ending series of wonders and delights, and a demonstration of the spectacularly raw and enigmatic beauty of the physical world.
