Success Stories
I first heard of Newfoundland when I was searching for great and affordable universities in Canada. I came her for the education but the people made it home for me. Moved to NL in 2012 and I now call it home. Currently working as a software developer at one of the greatest software companies here in NL.

I came to NL to see and experience North America and because Newfoundland seemed like an exotic place in the North Atlantic. I love it here because the people are really friendly, the nature is amazing and I fell in love with the Ocean. And I stayed in Newfoundland and Labrador because of the amazing people and infinite opportunities for my work.

My journey to Newfoundland, Canada was sheer coincidence. I had no prior knowledge of this place until my aunt, a nurse here, suggested I apply for a course. To me, it feels like destiny; my mum’s dying wish was for me to experience a better life in Canada. I wouldn’t change a thing, as I’ve loved what this beautiful land offers. If I could wish for one thing, it would be for my mum to see me now.

I secured a full scholarship with Memorial University to study renewable energy. Initially unsure of what to expect, I have grown immensely. I've had opportunities not common in my hometown and have formed valuable connections with mentors. The support for females in STEM and tech here is remarkable. As the province becomes a startup hub, I plan to stay after graduating to give back to the community that helped me grow.
